We had to pick our apples, so we thought we would have a taste but also use them to learn about our Earth and the small amount of productive space there is. Click on the activity below to see what we did.
We are all kaitiaki (guardians) of the land, the sea and the sky. We have a responsibility to care for our planet so that future generations may enjoy it as we have. This blog is a collection of resources to support Taupaki School's journey towards sustainable practice in our little corner of the world. We hope that the habits we form will be able to be transferred to other parts of our lives and into our collective future.

We are well on our way with our inquiries, with several groups almost ready to get going with the action section. It has taken us a while to get to this stage, but the thinking and discussion behind their ideas has been invaluable.
Students have learnt to;
- State their problem clearly within question framework based on the Future Problem Solving model. "Because...........how might we..........so that..................................
- They have researched a list of ideas, and have had to come up with at least ten possible solutions. This has meant that they have had to make sure that they have thought outside the square and gone beyond their initial idea. Many have surprised themselves by coming up with creative and fun concepts that will be achievable within term 2.
Watch this space as some of the action plans start to take shape.
